Hi all you kind people who follow my humble efforts,
Yesterday morning my Mom passed away. She was 90 and it was her time to go. But the passing of a loved one is always very tough, and she was the last parent my wife and I had. I am glad she went peacefully and I am grateful to the Lord for giving me two wonderful parents.
If my responses/uploads are rather erratic for a while, please do understand, this is a hard time.

Graduation!
Hi! I suppose I really should say something about my 'big news' this week. I finally graduated from the University of Birmingham (via Distance Learning) and with an M.A. in Military History. I'm really pleased and hope to be able to carry on this research, but one thing at a time. The graduation was virtual and while UoB tried what they could to make it special, and I had some good chats with folks on Zoom, I confess to missing the pomp and circumstance of "walking the plank". Still, it can't be helped! I suppose the other bit of news is that I got my second vaccine shot so now I am protected against this crazy virus, although apparently not until two weeks' time. And then there are those fun 'variants'. I will try put up more photos, I have a ton, it's just a question of having the energy!

Hi dear friends! We had some serious copper cable thefts here, and so I had no landline and no ADSL capability. After a while, the company announced it won't replace the old cables, but install fibre. That's fine, except I didn't have a fibre-compatible router. Now what? So I got the package etc., etc., and after about 16 days I am back in touch with the world. I will be uploading more photos slowly in the next while. Hope you've all been well! I recently got my first vaccination shot and need to go for the second in July. All the best!

Hi! Well, here we are on the first day of 2021! I am almost finished my MA dissertation, and it feels like I just built a pyramid or painted the Sistine Chapel! Wow, who'd a thought it is this much work! BUT, almost there. I hope you all had a great Christmas Season (even if you don't do Christmas), and wish you all a much better year than the one we've been through. No, I won't go into that!
